Background
In accordance with the law Nº20/2000 of 26/07/2000 relating to Associations without lucrative goals it create an Association without lucrative goals called The APVVI carries on its activities on all extent of the Republic of RWANDA It can undertake and realize activities of co-operation at the regional and international level.
Legal status is hereby granted to the association « APVV-IGIHOZO » that is situated at Kigali City.
Mission
To contribute with the Government and other organizations in the promotion of the well being of HIV positive people and orphans of HIV/AIDS.
Objectives
The Association has the following objectives:
- To contribute to the activities of prevention against the infection of HIV/AIDS.
- To promote education and training of orphans and other vulnerable children.
- Contribute to the mobilization of resources aiming to self-financing of HIV positive people and orphans infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
- To ensure the speech of defense n favor of HIV positive people and patients of AIDS and orphans infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Members
IGIHOZO Association has actually 320 members adults among them some are positively living and others aren’t. IGIHOZO Association management chart starts on the general assembly, executive committee and the permanent secretariat.
Our Partners
IGIHOZO Association is actually implementing in Muhanga District the SSF/HIV AIDS Global Fund Project in 4 sectors (Cyeza, Muhanga, Nyamabuye and Shyogwe); we also have some umbrellas which we collaborate under such as : Rwanda NGO Forum on HIV, Rwanda People Living with HIV/AIDS.
