Background
In accordance with law Nº20/2000 of 26/07/2000 relating to Associations without lucrative goals, APVVI-IGIHOZO was created to carry on its activities in the Republic of RWANDA. The Association can undertake and realize activities of a co-operation at regional and international level.
Legal status is hereby granted to the association « APVV-IGIHOZO » that is situated in Kigali City.
Mission
To contribute with the Government and other organizations in the promotion of the well being of HIV positive people and orphans of HIV/AIDS.
Objectives
The Association has the following objectives:
- To contribute to the activities of prevention against the infection of HIV/AIDS.
- To promote education and training of orphans and other vulnerable children.
- Contribute to the mobilization of resources aiming to self-financing of HIV positive people and orphans infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
- To ensure the speech of defense n favor of HIV positive people and patients of AIDS and orphans infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Members
IGIHOZO Association has actually 320 adult members, among them some are people living with HIV and others are not. IGIHOZO Association management chart starts with the general assembly, executive committee and the permanent secretariat.
Our Partners
IGIHOZO Association is actually implementing in Muhanga District the SSF/HIV AIDS Global Fund Project in 4 sectors (Cyeza, Muhanga, Nyamabuye and Shyogwe); we also have some umbrellas which we collaborate under such as : Rwanda NGOs Forum on HIV/AIDS and Health Promotion ((RNGOF on HIV/AIDS & HP) and the Rwanda Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (RRP+).
